Plastics challenge STEM challenge: Take on a series of lessons which are designed to extend students’ knowledge and understanding of plastics and plastic waste on a global scale.
Visit the STEM Learning website for a Practical Action activity which asks pupils to sort and classify different types of plastic based on the income they may generate. This leads to activities looking at the lifecycles of plastics and how they can be recycled as well as re-used or their use reduced or rethought. There is also the option to perform tests to identify plastics and make bioplastics from everyday cooking ingredients and kitchen equipment.
Full supporting resources are available to download, including a teacher guide, pupil activity sheets and certificates.
